Sixth Form Studies Recent developments in the provision for Sixth Formers at Hereford Cathedral School range across the curriculum, the re- organisation of the pastoral system and probably the most significant development, the creation of a dedicated Sixth Form centre in the Zimmerman building in Castle Street. The new Sixth Form Centre comprises of a open plan dedicated work area, the academic heart of the Sixth Form, which is served by a suite of Sixth Form dedicated ICT facilities including a wireless network for pupils' laptops. This supervised area is being carefully planned so that Sixth Form students will have a work area that enhances the individual learning opportunities of a modern approach to A level study. In addition , the availability of the Sixth Form Centre in September 2006 has allowed a reform of the pastoral system for the Sixth Form with small specialist Sixth Form tutor groups being constructed across the two years. A Sixth Form Tutor only has to look after a maximum of seven pupils a year with their University applications.
